The intersection where the crash occurred.
Preliminary details indicate the driver of a truck was traveling southbound on Chippendale Avenue and was turning eastbound onto County Road 42 when the collision occurred. Investigators believe the incident took place during the execution of that turn. We do not know at this time where the lady was crossing the road, but we do know that initially, the eastbound County Road 42 was partially blocked.
The Minnesota State Patrol’s Crash Reconstruction team was called in to assist the Rosemount Police Department with the investigation and accident reconstruction. Due to the reconstruction, portions of the intersection were closed down for a brief period and have since reopened. Authorities have informed us that the investigation remains active, with no arrests made and no citations issued as of Monday afternoon.
Police confirmed that the driver remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with law enforcement officials.
