76-Year-Old Driver Injured in Rollover Crash at Lebanon Hills Regional Park Entrance in Eagan
EAGAN, MINNESOTA— A 76-year-old woman was transported to the hospital Sunday night following a single-vehicle rollover crash at the entrance to Lebanon Hills Regional Park in Eagan.
According to the Eagan Police Department, the crash occurred at approximately 10:09 p.m. near the park's visitor center entrance, located off Cliff Road. While the cause of the crash is currently unknown, the driver told authorities that she believed she may have struck something before realizing her vehicle had tipped onto its side. She was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
The preliminary investigation suggests the woman had been driving northbound on the Lebanon Hills Access Road toward Cliff Road (exiting the park) along the shoulder when she overcorrected, causing the vehicle to roll and strike the park’s entrance gate. No other vehicles or witnesses were involved in the incident.
Allina Health transported the driver to United Hospital. The extent of her injuries is currently unknown, but it did appear she was awake and coherent as she was being loaded into the ambulance.
Eagan Police, Eagan Fire, Allina Health, and the Dakota County Sheriff's Office Park Ranger all responded to the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
