Minnesota DNR Seeks Students for 200 Paid Summer Internships

MINNESOTA - In a recent press release from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR), it has announced a call for 200 paid summer internship positions for students interested in exploring careers in natural resource management. The program offers hands-on opportunities to gain experience in areas such as fisheries, forestry, park operations, watercraft inspections, and communications.

Interns will work 20 to 40 hours per week, earning a competitive wage of $19 per hour. Positions are available statewide and provide valuable training and skill development, contributing to the DNR's mission of conserving natural resources, promoting outdoor recreation, and ensuring sustainable commercial use of resources.

To qualify, applicants must meet academic requirements, such as fulfilling a course requirement or earning academic credit.

How to Apply

Students can explore and apply for internships by visiting the Minnesota Careers website.

  1. Click “Search for jobs” on the toolbar.

  2. Select “Search for jobs now” under External Applicants and choose “View all jobs.”

  3. Filter results by selecting “Natural Resources Dept” under the Agency category and “Student Worker and Internships” under the Job Family category.

Applications are open through Jan. 31, 2025, with positions starting in May and June. Students who do not meet the eligibility requirements for internships are encouraged to regularly check the DNR’s website for additional seasonal and year-round job opportunities.

The DNR, a veteran-friendly employer, promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion in its workforce.
