BURNSVILLE, MN: Several regional police agencies responded to Burnsville High School on Friday night, June 6, 2025, following reports of multiple altercations and gunfire shortly after the school’s graduation ceremony.
According to the Burnsville Police Department, officers assigned to the event heard gunshots around 8:30 p.m., approximately 30 minutes after the ceremony had concluded. Police quickly moved toward the area west of the school, where the disturbances had been reported, and were soon joined by numerous law enforcement agencies.
Despite the alarming nature of the incident, no injuries were reported. Authorities confirmed that four individuals have been apprehended in connection with the incident. Their identities and potential charges have not been released yet.
The response to the incident was significant, involving officers from a wide range of agencies and at least two neighboring counties. Some of the units that responded included Prior Lake, Eagan, Lakeville, Savage, Bloomington, Apple Valley, Hastings, Rosemount, Inver Grove Heights, the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, Scott County Sheriff’s Office, the Minnesota State Patrol, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). The Burnsville Police are grateful for the quick response and support from all neighboring agencies tonight.
Police have not yet disclosed whether any weapons were recovered or what led to the altercations. The incident remains under active investigation, and officials have not indicated if there is any ongoing threat to the public.
