Missing Person Austin Ray Retterath Update

May 20th Update: The authorities have confirmed they found Austin’s body in the Mississippi River on Wednesday, May 13th. No foul play is suspected at this time.

It is with great sadness that we have to report the passing of Austin Ray Retterath. An obituary from the family confirms his passing on Sunday, May 8, 2022. Austin was only 19 years old. You can read the full obituary here.

His cause of death is still unknown at this time. As of May 13, 2022, the University of Minnesota Police Department (UMPD) reports that a search is still ongoing for Austin with help from the Hennepin County Sherriff’s Water Patrol. Current search efforts are being focused on the Mississippi River in the area of Franklin Ave Bridge.

FULL STORY - On Sunday, May 8th, the UMPD issued an alert seeking help from the public with any information in regards to Austin Ray Retterath who was considered a missing person. He was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt, dark shorts, and white shoes in the area of East River Road and Franklin Avenue in Minneapolis., Minnesota. Austin was a student at the University of Minnesota.
