Large crime scene search in Bloomington, Minnesota

BLOOMINGTON, MINNESOTA - On the evening of Thursday, July 20, 2023, several police agencies came together to search for what appeared to be evidence for a crime scene that was located at the I-494 and I-35 interchange in Bloomington, Minnesota. Police closed the on-ramp from westbound 494 onto northbound I-35, which remained closed as of 11 PM. Police personnel on the scene could be seen placing evidence in paper and plastic bags, using various tools to search the ditch, and capturing photos of the scene with crime scene markers. K9s from North Star Search & Rescue were also brought to search the scene. Additional known agencies at the scene included the Minnesota State Patrol, Burnsville Police Department, Hennepin County Sherriff, and the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
