Two-vehicle injury accident in Apple Valley

APPLE VALLEY, MINNESOTA - Just after 1 PM on Thursday, May 4, 2023, a call came into Dakota County Dispatch for a two-vehicle injury accident at the intersection of 147th Street and Galaxie Avenue in Apple Valley, Minnesota. The accident resulted in both lanes of Galaxie Avenue being closed just south of 147th Street to 150th Street (County Road 42) and the right lane of eastbound 147th Street also being closed. One of the vehicles in the crash, a white pickup truck, appeared to have several screws and nails in the back bed which were thrown across the road following the accident.

We do not know what caused the crash at this time, but the Apple Valley Police Department was able to tell us so far that there was a T-bone accident and that the injuries sustained by both drivers were minor. No one needed to be transported from the scene by medics. As soon as the full report is done, we hope to provide further updates on this story. What we do know is the crash involved a white pickup truck and a blue passenger car. The pickup truck came to rest in the northbound lanes of Galaxie Avenue partially blocking the eastbound right lane of 147th Street. The blue passenger car came to rest on the southeast side of the intersection where it had gone through the fence along the sidewalk.

Apple Valley Fire Department, Apple Valley Police Department, and ALF Ambulance all responded to the scene of the accident. Dicks Valley Service responded to tow both vehicles. We will update this story with more information as it is made available to us.
