Amber Alert for 2-year-old in Apple Valley, Minnesota has been canceled. The child was found safe!

APPLE VALLEY POLICE DEPARTMENT PRESS RELEASE

According to the Apple Valley Police Department, on October 30, 2022, at 5:22 PM, officers were dispatched to the 12700 block of Germane Ave for a call about a domestic dispute. It was reported the caller’s two-year-old child was taken by his biological father, Shannon Dawayne Ingram, age 30. Officers learned Ingram did not have parental rights for the child and was prohibited by court order from having any sort of contact with the child or the child’s mother.

Within a few minutes, officers gathered information leading to a residence in St. Paul, Minnesota. The St. Paul Police went to the area and located the suspect’s vehicle parked nearby the residence. A search warrant was obtained and served at that residence was conducted. During the search, neither the suspect nor the child was located at the residence.

In the early morning hours of October 31, 2022, investigators were able to locate Ingram and the child at an address in Minneapolis. Ingram was arrested at this location without incident. The child was found unharmed and was reunited with his mother a short time later.

Ingram had been transported to the Dakota County Jail where he remains in custody at this time. The department would like to express our sincere gratitude to the community members who reached out with tips after the amber alert was issued around 10:21 PM on October 30, 2022. . The department partnered with the MN Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the Minneapolis Office of the FBI , and the St. Paul Police Department to bring a successful resolution to this incident.

The investigation into this incident remains active.



ORIGINAL STORY: APPLE VALLEY, MINNESOTA - An Amber Alert was issued by the Minnesota BCA for a missing toddler that police believe was taken by a non-custodial parent/father in the Apple Valley, Minnesota area.

Police are asking for help finding 2-year-old Shannon Yusuf Ingram. Police are saying they believe he was taken by his father, 30-year-old Shannon Dewayne Ingram, who doesn't have custody of the child. Police say a vehicle associated with the case was found on the 100 block of Ruth Street North in St. Paul.

The child was last seen wearing a blue Baby Shark hoodie and gray jeans.

Anyone with information on the child or father is asked to call the Dakota County Communication Center at 651-322-2323.
