Dakota County Board of Commissioners is holding a public hearing on County Ordinance 101, Sale of Intoxicating Liquor
DAKOTA COUNTY - The Dakota County Board of Commissioners has issued a public notice on a public hearing they will be held at 9 AM on July 18, 2023, in the Dakota County Administration Center Boardroom located at 1590 Highway 55 in Hastings, Minnesota. The board will be hearing comments on the amendments they are proposing for County Ordinance 101, which regulates the licensing and sale of 3.2% Liquor (on sale and off sale) and intoxicating Liquor (on sale and off sale).

According to the Board of Commissioners, the following amendment is due to the passing of legislation by the State of Minnesota back on May 30, 2023, regulating adult-use cannabis. The revisions were to ensure state laws were all consistent.
Section 6. Persons Eligible: Include a person with a license revoked or convicted of an offense under Chapter 342 or Section 151.72 or who has been convicted of the illegal sale of cannabis products and may not be issued a retail liquor license.
According to the Board of Commissioners, the following amendment is due to the passing of legislation by the State of Minnesota back on May 30, 2023, allowing the county agricultural society to apply for a 7-dau temporary liquor license during the county fair. The revisions were to ensure state laws were all consistent.
Section 7. Intoxicating Liquor: On-Sale Licenses: Include temporary on-sale licenses of intoxicating liquor for 1-4 days to clubs, charitable, religious, or non-profit organizations, and no more than seven days to the county agricultural society at the county fair.
