Burnsville Fire Department Honors Fallen Hero Adam Finseth at National Memorial

Firefighter-Paramedic Adam Finseth’s Name to Be Etched into National Fallen Firefighters Memorial

BURNSVILLE, MINNESOTA - The Burnsville Fire Department is honoring the life and legacy of Firefighter-Paramedic Adam Finseth, who died in the line of duty on February 18, 2024. This weekend, his name will be permanently added to the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Emmitsburg, Maryland, joining 69 other firefighters lost over the past year and 70 more from previous years.

“Adam served his community with great pride and professionalism,” said Burnsville Fire Chief B.J. Jungmann. “We will never forget him, and we will hold his family in our hearts forever.”

Memorial Weekend Events

Chief Jungmann is leading a group of more than 60 firefighters and family members to the memorial, where they will take part in a candlelight vigil on Saturday at 6:30 PM CT and a memorial service on Sunday at 9:00 AM CT. Additional support sessions and remembrance activities will help attendees process grief and honor the fallen.

“This weekend is not only a powerful reminder of Adam’s life and ultimate sacrifice, it also allows us to be there in the larger firefighter community to process our grief and be there for each other,” said Chief Jungmann.

Community Tribute

Throughout the weekend, Burnsville’s fire stations will glow red, symbolizing the courage and sacrifice of Firefighter Finseth and his fellow fallen firefighters.

“We come together not only to remember the fallen, but to stand in solidarity with their families and departments, letting them know their loved ones will never be forgotten,” said Troy Markel, Chair of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF).
