Trailer Fire Contained at Lakeville Construction Site; No Injuries Reported
LAKEVILLE, MINNESOTA—A trailer fire broke out Tuesday afternoon, May 6, 2025, at a Lakeville construction site, prompting a response from area fire departments. Crews from Lakeville Fire, Apple Valley Fire, Allina Health Medics, and Lakeville Police were dispatched to the area of 165th Street and Jaffna Place around 12:45 p.m. after reports of a trailer ablaze near a newly constructed apartment building.
According to the Lakeville Fire Chief, Michael Meyer, the fire involved a spray insulation trailer located on the site of the future ESTORIA Lakeville, a four-story, 89-unit senior housing co-op being built near Hosanna Church. The trailer and equipment were declared a total loss, but the apartment building under construction sustained no damage.
“Fortunately, there were no injuries reported,” the fire chief stated.
Following the quick suppression of fire on the trailer, firefighters remained on the scene for a little longer to inspect the building for any embers that might have blown onto or into the structure due to wind. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The ESTORIA Lakeville development broke ground on September 4, 2024, and will provide cooperative housing options for seniors in the Lakeville area.
