APPLE VALLEY, MINNESOTA—The Apple Valley Police Department has launched an investigation after a man was found dead early Sunday morning near the intersection of Pennock Avenue and 138th Street West.
According to a press release from the Apple Valley Police Department, officers were dispatched to the area at approximately 3:12 a.m. for a welfare check on a person reported to be lying on the sidewalk. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male with a chest injury and “covered in blood.” Officers attempted lifesaving measures at the scene, but the man was pronounced dead. His identity has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office will release his name and cause of death at a later time.
Authorities are asking residents in the area, especially those with exterior surveillance systems, to review any footage recorded between 2:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 6, 2025. Anyone who may have captured relevant activity is urged to contact the Apple Valley Police Department at 952-322-2323.
