The incident occurred on the afternoon of February 18, when officers responded to a 911 call reporting an armed robbery in Apple Valley. The Victim, a locksmith, was coerced into handing over his keys and phone at gunpoint by Smith, who then fled the scene in the Victim’s vehicle, according to the complaint. According to the criminal complaint, surveillance footage also captured Smith bragging about the carjacking and discussing details with Jordan. Jordan is reportedly heard instructing Smith on handling the stolen vehicle, including plans to hide it in a garage and mentioning a “crime scene.” Jordan reportedly directed Smith to drive the vehicle to an address in Saint Paul, Minnesota, claiming it belonged to an individual named "DayDay."
