TWIN CITIES, MINNESOTA: The National Weather Service in the Twin Cities has issued a Wind Advisory for the entire Twin Cities Metro from 9 AM CST on Wednesday through 12 AM CST on Thursday. More details below.

A cold front will work across the region Wednesday morning, bringing scattered snow showers to parts of the region. While overall snowfall accumulations are projected to be light, around half an inch or less, gusty winds and dropping temperatures behind the front could lead to slick conditions during the evening commute, especially on bridges, elevated surfaces, untreated surfaces, or secondary roads and curves.

WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM WEDNESDAY TO 12 AM THURSDAY CST.

* WHAT: Northwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.

* WHERE: Portions of central, east-central, south-central, southeast, southwest, and west-central Minnesota.

* WHEN: From 9 AM CST Wednesday to 12 AM CST Thursday.

* IMPACTS: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects, tree limbs could be blown down, and a few power outages may result.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS

Winds that are this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles. Please be sure to use extra caution and secure outdoor objects, including any untethered holiday decorations.

Latest projected snowfall totals from the NWS Twin Cities as of 8:45 AM on Wednesday, December 4th.
