Juveniles Flee Police in Stolen Car in Eagan, MN

EAGAN, MINNESOTA - On the night of Tuesday, December 12, 2023, an officer with the Eagan Police Department on routine patrol spotted a car with a broken tail light. When the officer ran the plate on the car, they found the car was reported stolen from the city of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Once backup got in the area, the Eagan Officer attempted to do a traffic stop on the vehicle near Highway 13 and Mendota Heights Road.

Instead of stopping, the car pulled a U-turn and began fleeing police southbound on Highway 13 from Mendota Heights Road at a high rate of speed, and a pursuit began. During the pursuit, speeds reached 85 MPH before the car turned right from southbound Highway 13 onto Silver Bell/Old Nicols Road. The car eventually crashed on Old Nicols Road and three juveniles were taken into custody.

According to Sergeant Rich Evans of the Eagan Police Department, two juveniles were taken to the detention center, with the third juvenile released to his family.
