Police are asking for the public’s help in the search for endangered missing person Madeline Jane Kingsbury

The Winona Police Department is asking for the public’s help in the search for 26-year-old Madeline Jane Kingsbury from Winona, Minnesota which is located in southeastern Minnesota. Madeline Jane Kingsbury was last seen on the morning of Friday, March 31, 2023, when she was seen dropping off her children at daycare with the father of her kids. Kingsbury never came back to pick up her kids and she never showed up to work that morning. Her family and friends attempted to contact her, but no one was able to contact her, which is something they say is not like her. On Saturday, April 1, 2023, Madeline Jane Kingsbury was reported missing to the Winona Police Department. While police say there is no threat to the general public, they believe that Madeline Jane Kingsbury’s disappearance was involuntary and suspicious, and she might be endangered. Authorities have not ruled out foul play. Authorities said after a search of her residence, the jacket she wore that morning, her phone, her wallet, and her ID were all left at her residence. Madeline Kingsbury is described as 5 feet 4 inches tall and 135 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.

According to a press release from the Winona Police Department, around 8 AM Madeline and the father of her children dropped off their kids at daycare. Madeline would later return to her residence in Winona around 8:15 AM. The father of Madeline’s children has spoken with police and states he left the residence in Madeline’s van around 10 AM and when he came home, Madeline was not home. The vehicle Madeline drives is a 2014 dark blue Chrysler Town and Country minivan. Upon further investigation by police, they believe a van matching the description of Madeline’s van was seen traveling on County Road 12 and Highway 43 in Winona County, and then southbound on Highway 43 through the eastern part of Fillmore County. A van similar to Madeline’s was once again believed to be traveling back to Winona on Highway 43 between 10 AM and 1:30 PM. It is believed the van was left parked in the driveway of the Kingsbury residence from 1:30 PM on. According to the police, no evidence points to Madeline leaving her residence on foot or in another vehicle. Police have confirmed they are no longer looking for the van.

Law enforcement has searched the surrounding area of Madeline’s residence, along Highway 43 in both Winona and Fillmore Counties, and this continues to be ongoing. Additional help was been brought in from neighboring law enforcement agencies and volunteers, and included people on foot, in vehicles, by water, and by air. Police continue to speak with family and friends, and are investigating any leads and developing information that is provided to them.
