Suspected Golden Valley Porsche Thief Arrested After Damaging Four Police Squads at a Wendys

Minneapolis, Minnesota - A man that was wanted for stealing multiple vehicles in Golden Valley, including a Porsche, and damaging five total police squad cars, was taken into custody this week according to the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office. On Thursday, August 17th, the suspect, a 33-year-old, was allegedly driving a stolen Porche, when he allegedly rammed into a Hennepin County Sherrif's squad car and then fled the scene from them. The vehicle had a cops alert out from the Golden Valley Police Department after multi-thefts were linked to the suspect back on August 15th in Golden Valley, Minnesota. Around 4 PM on August 17th, the Hennepin County Sheriff responded to a crash that occurred in North Minneapolis, Minnesota that involved the suspected Porsche thief. Witnesses to the crash stated that the Porsche thief then fled the scene of the crash in a blue Camaro that had a Domino's Pizza sign on top of it. The vehicle he fled in matched the description of a vehicle that was stolen back on August 15th from Golden Valley.

Just before 9:30 AM on August 18th, Hennepin County Sheriffs spotted the blue Camaro in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota in front of the Normandy Hotel. Assistance was called in by the Minneapolis Police Department and the Gun Investigations Unit. The suspect and vehicle were found to be at a Wendy's off of Broadway, which was when the police blocked the vehicle in with their squad cars. The suspect attempted to ram the squad cars with the vehicle to try and get out, and in the process damaged four more police squads. Police ended up pinning the suspect vehicle against a tree and surrounded it on all sides. The suspect was eventually taken into custody with no injuries being reported.
