Dakota County Parks Announce Exciting June Programs for All Ages

DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA—This month, Dakota County Parks is offering various engaging programs and camps for community members of all ages. From fishing and hiking to mountain biking and outdoor adventures, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors and learn new skills.

Small Fry Fish Camp:

  • Date: Friday, June 14, 9 a.m.–3 p.m.

  • Location: Lebanon Hills Visitor Center

  • Description: A day camp for young anglers aged 6–8. Participants will learn fishing basics, including casting and knot tying, and get out on the water.

  • Fee: $55 per youth

  • Registration: Required

Family Hike:

  • Date: Sunday, June 16, 10–11 a.m.

  • Location: Thompson County Park Trailhead

  • Description: A naturalist-led walk to learn about the seasons and outdoor happenings. Open to all ages.

  • Fee: FREE

Little Rippers Mountain Bike Camp:

  • Date: Tuesday, June 18, 5–8 p.m.

  • Location: Mountain Bike Shelter, Lebanon Hills Regional Park

  • Description: A camp for young riders aged 6–10, taught by Valley Bike and Ski. Participants need to bring a mountain bike and helmet; no prior experience required.

  • Fee: $55 per youth

  • Registration: Required

Fish Camp:

  • Dates: Wednesday–Friday, June 19–21, and June 26–28, 9 a.m.–3 p.m.

  • Location: Lebanon Hills Visitor Center

  • Description: A camp for kids aged 8–12, featuring hands-on games and fishing activities, including casting and catch-and-release.

  • Fee: $150 per youth

  • Registration: Required

OUTdoor Adventure:

  • Dates: Monday–Wednesday, June 24–26, 9 a.m.–3 p.m.

  • Location: Camp Sacajawea Retreat Center, Lebanon Hills Regional Park

  • Description: A camp for LGBTQ+ campers and allies aged 12–15. Activities include outdoor recreation, survival skills, journaling, and crafts.

  • Fee: $150 per youth

  • Registration: Required

These programs provide excellent opportunities for children and families to explore nature, develop new skills, and enjoy the summer season.
