Inver Grove Heights Woman Arrested Following Drunken Drive on Baseball Field

INVER GROVE HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA - Police with the Inver Grove Heights Police Department arrested a lady from Inver Grove Heights after she was reported to be driving on the baseball field and unaware of it.

According to the criminal complaint released by the Dakota County Attorney's Office on Monday, November 20, 2023, at around 7:57 PM, Inver Grove Heights Officers responded to a baseball field behind a church in Inver Grove Heights after they received multiple reports of a lady that was later identified as Christine Rogge, was driving around on the baseball field. One person who was with Ms. Rogge said she seemed like she was under the influence and was not aware she was on the baseball field.

When Officers arrived at the field, they found Ms. Rogge standing near the vehicle on the baseball field. According to Ms. Rogge, she was not driving the vehicle; another male was, and she was trying to get the vehicle unstuck. Multiple witnesses at the scene countered her claim and said they saw her driving and that the other male at the scene wasn't there until just before Police had arrived. An Officer reportedly saw two empty cans of beer in plain view in the vehicle.

As the Officers spoke with Ms. Rogge, they noticed she had watery and glassy eyes, so she was given sobriety tests where she showed multiple signs of impairment. She was then given a breath test, where she blew a 0.115, 1.4 times the legal limit. She was arrested, and while being searched, they located a can of beer and the keys to the vehicle in her jacket pocket.

While back at the station, she was given the Breath Test Advisory and the opportunity to contact a lawyer. While there, she agreed to give another breath test, administered around 2 hours and 20 minutes later. She blew a 0.08.

According to her records, Christine Rogge has had three prior DWI convictions in the past ten years. Those were on March 1, 2015, August 7, 2020, and December 1, 2022. The criminal complaint states she was charged for Felony 1st Degree Driving While Impaired (under the Influence of Alcohol)(Three or more priors), which comes with a 3 to 7-year sentence and/or a fine of $4,200 to $14,000 and Felony 1st Degree Driving While Impaired (0.08 or more)(Three or more priors), which also comes with a 3 to 7-year sentence and/or a fine of $4,200 to $14,000.
