APPLE VALLEY, MINNESOTA - A 41-year-old male from Farmington, Minnesota, was arrested by a Trooper from the Minnesota State Patrol after he was clocked going 81 MPH in a 65 MPH zone in Apple Valley, Minnesota. The man was additionally charged with a 5th-degree Felony for the procession of a controlled substance and driving while impaired.

According to a criminal complaint released by the Dakota County Attorney's Office on Saturday, November 4, 2023, a Trooper with the Minnesota State Patrol recorded 41-year-old Justin Siedschlag traveling at 81 MPH in Apple Valley, Minnesota in a 65 MPH zone. The Trooper initiated a traffic stop on Mr. Siedschlag's vehicle. When the Trooper approached the vehicle to speak with Mr. Siedschlag, he noticed that he had watery, bloodshot eyes and that a strong odor of alcohol was coming from his vehicle. When the Trooper asked Mr. Siedschlag how much he had to drink that night, he told the Trooper only two beers.

A field test was done on Mr. Siedschlag, which showed he had signs of impairment. When Mr. Siedschlag was given a breath test, he blew a 0.117, about 1.5x the legal limit. A second breath test was given at the police station, where he blew a 0.09.

As he was being arrested, police searched Mr. Siedschlag, where a small baggie of white powder and a tube were found on him. Mr. Siedschlag told the Trooper it was cocaine. The white powder was field tested, and it came back positive for cocaine with a weight of around 6.9 grams.

Justin Siedshlag was again charged with Felony possession in the 5th degree of a controlled substance, which comes with a 0-5 year sentence and/or a fine of $3,000 to $10,000. He was also charged with 4th-degree driving while impaired (under the influence of alcohol), which comes with a sentence of 0-90 days and/or a fine of $300 to $1,000.
