72-Year-Old Man Arrested for DUI Following Single-Vehicle Crash in Rockford
ROCKFORD, ILLINOIS – On Friday, May 24, 2024, at approximately 11:21 PM, a single-vehicle crash occurred on N 3rd Street/Prairie Street in Rockford, Illinois. The incident resulted in the arrest of a 72-year-old male driver, who now faces several charges, including improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed/speed is too fast for conditions, and driving under the influence (DUI).
The crash involved a single vehicle that hit the right barrier just before the bridge and came to a stop on the bridge. Following the crash, the road was temporarily closed to allow authorities to investigate the scene and arrange for the vehicle to be towed, which caused minor traffic disruptions until the scene was cleared. Law enforcement was not able to provide us any information on whether there were any injuries or not.
