Three were hurt following a shooting at a high school football game
Monday, October 10th Update - As of 7 AM Monday morning, no suspects are in custody after police clarified that the two arrested late Friday night were cleared of any involvement with this incident and they were not related. All three victims that were injured in the shooting are expected to recover. Two were adults and one was a student at Whitmore. No fatalities occurred from this shooting. Several gunshots were fired, with reports of at least 12 gunshots being heard on Friday night. At this time, police say they are working to identify the shooters. Sources who were at the game and saw the shooting say the suspect vehicle is a blue charger. Again, as more information becomes available, we will continue to update this story with the latest.
ORIGINAL STORY - Toledo, Ohio: At around 9:30 PM with around 7 minutes left in the 4th quarter of the Whitmer High School and Central Catholic High School football game, several gunshots were fired outside the stadium. In a live stream video below by BCSN of the football game at Whitmer High School, several shots are heard in the background of the video with teams, the band, and fans in the crowd running away from the direction of the gunfire in a chaotic moment. The video ends with the announcers on the video saying “We’re going to break.”
According to the Toledo Police, at least three people were shot and several bullet casings were found on the ground behind the school’s field house, which is located on the southwest corner of the stadium. Unconfirmed reports by witnesses say two people with black ski masks were seen firing the shots and then later speeding away in a vehicle. This is still a developing story, we will provide further updates as more information is released.
11:25 PM Update - In a statement released by the Washington Local Schools, they confirm three people were injured from a shooting that occurred during the Central Catholic and Whitmer High School. Of those injured, two were adults and one was a student from Whitmer High School. All three are being treated for their injuries at a local hospital. No guests were injured in the evacuation. More updates will come as they are released.
In an update from On Patrol: Live, Toledo Police pulled over a car believed to be involved with the shooting at the high school. Two of the four suspects in the car were arrested after they fled. Toledo Police were live streaming with the channel for the first time as this situation was unfolding.
