Triple Shooting in Minneapolis Leaves One Person Dead
MINNEAPOLIS - Minneapolis Police are investigating a triple shooting that occurred last night, Sunday, August 14, 2023, on the 1500 block of Nicollet Avenue in Minneapolis, Minnesota that left one person dead. According to Minneapolis Police, Officers responded to a report of a shooting with multiple people injured at 8:15 PM on the 1500 block of Nicollet Avenue. Upon arrival, Minneapolis Police located two adult males in their 20s with gunshot wounds. One of the males had potentially life-threatening gunshot wounds, while the other reportedly has life-threatening gunshot wounds. Both male victims were transported to the hospital by EMS to HCMC. Minneapolis Police say they also located an 18-year-old female with potentially life-threatening gunshot wounds who was taken to HCMC via a private vehicle that was connected to this shooting.
The Minneapolis Police report that one of the adult males with life-threatening gunshot wounds later died at the hospital from his injuries. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will identify the deceased adult male and his cause of death.
The Minneapolis Police report that the preliminary information indicates that this shooting may have been the result of a previous altercation, or that the individuals involved might have known each other. They have not made any arrests yet in connection with this incident, but they are continuing to investigate. This would be the 50th homicide this year for the City of Minneapolis according to the Crime Dashboard by the City.
