Second-Alarm Garage Fire in Farmington Contained, No Injuries Reported
FARMINGTON, MINNESOTA—A working garage fire broke out Saturday afternoon in the 700 block of Eleventh Street in Farmington, Minnesota. The fire was reported at approximately 3:50 PM and quickly upgraded to a second alarm.
Upon arrival, the Farmington Fire Department found a working fire coming from the residence's garage. Mutual aid was called in from the neighboring Lakeville Fire Department. The Apple Valley Fire Department provided additional mutual aid. The Farmington Police Department and Allina Health’s ALF Ambulance were also on the scene to provide aid. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported in connection with this incident.
A notable moment during the operation was the rescue of a dog by emergency personnel. She was reported to be in good health but definitely shaken up.
Thanks to the coordinated efforts of all involved agencies, the fire was contained to the garage, preventing further damage to the main residence and surrounding properties. The cause of the fire is currently unknown and remains under investigation. Authorities are working to determine the origin.
