Two-Vehicle Crash at Dodd Road and I-494 Ramp Sends Two to Local Hospital for Minor Injuries
EAGAN/MENDOTA HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA – Emergency personnel responded to a two-vehicle accident just before 1 PM on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at the intersection of southbound Dodd Road (Highway 149) and the westbound I-494 ramp. Initial dispatch reports indicated the crash occurred on the Eagan side of the boundary, leading to the deployment of Eagan Fire and Eagan Police. However, it was later confirmed that the incident took place on the Mendota Heights side, prompting the Mendota Heights Fire Department and Mendota Heights Police Department to respond. Minnesota State Patrol and M Health were also on the scene swiftly.
The accident involved a Hyundai Palisade and a Ford Explorer. According to initial reports from the Minnesota State Patrol, the Hyundai Palisade was traveling southbound on Highway 149 when it attempted to turn onto the westbound I-494 ramp. During this maneuver, it collided with the northbound Ford Explorer.
Emergency responders reported at least three injuries from the collision. The driver and a passenger of the Ford Explorer were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, records show no citations were issued related to the incident. Reports do not show that anyone ran a red light.
