UPDATED: Bicyclist Injured in Crash on Highway 13 in Eagan

EAGAN, MINNESOTA—A collision between a vehicle and a bicyclist occurred late Wednesday morning on Highway 13, just south of Yankee Doodle Road. The incident was reported shortly before 11:55 AM, leading to the closure of the highway's northbound lanes as first responders attended to the scene.
Eagan Police, Eagan Fire, MHealth, and the Minnesota State Patrol were all dispatched to the crash site. The bicyclist involved in the accident was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation. The Minnesota State Patrol reports that the bicyclist is suffering from serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
As the emergency personnel worked to manage the scene and investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, northbound traffic on Highway 13 faced significant disruptions. By 12:18 PM, responders had started to clear the area, allowing one far-left turn lane to open for northbound traffic. By 12:30 PM, all lanes of northbound Highway 13 were reopened, and traffic returned to normal flow.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the cause of the crash remains open and active. Once the Minnesota State Patrol finishes its investigation, we will provide additional updates, including the cause of the crash and whether any citations were issued.
