Late Night Fatal Shooting in Saint Paul’s East Side
SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA - The Saint Paul Police Department says it is investigating after a person was shot in the city’s Dayton’s Bluff neighborhood late Thursday, March 14th.
The Police say they were called to a report of shots fired on the 1300 block of Wilson Avenue; multiple 911 callers stated they heard various gunshots and witnessed vehicles leaving the area just before 11 p.m. Officers arrived in the area and located an unoccupied damaged vehicle in the middle of the street with no victims found and that the damage appeared to be from a car crash. Police say they witnessed a vehicle driving erratically on Minnehaha Avenue East near Frank Street North while responding to Wilson Ave. Officers stopped the vehicle and located an adult male inside suffering from apparent gunshot injuries.
EMS was called to the scene, but the man was pronounced dead on the scene. Police say the vehicle the man was in appeared to have been involved in a recent crash and believe it is connected to the shots fired call on Wilson Ave. This is the 4th homicide of the year in Saint Paul.
