Updated on August 26, 2024, at 9:50 AM.

UPDATE—According to the police report from the Farmington Police Department, on the evening of August 17, 2024, at approximately 10:24 PM, Farmington Police officers responded to a severe single-vehicle accident that left two people trapped inside a flipped vehicle. When officers arrived on the scene, they found the vehicle upside down in the backyard of a residence following what appeared to be a dramatic crash.

When the first Farmington Police Officers arrived, they found the vehicle overturned, with the passenger side door accessible. The passenger of the vehicle was conscious and breathing but remained trapped upside down, his legs pinned under the steering wheel. The first Officer immediately began speaking with the passenger to assess his condition. The Officer then noticed the driver lying on their side in the vehicle. Farmington Officers worked together to pry open the vehicle's doors, eventually freeing the driver. Although the driver was conscious, he displayed signs of confusion, likely resulting from a large bump and several bleeding wounds on his head [a head injury]. Despite the accident's severity, officers observed no signs of impairment in the driver or passenger. Medics arrived on the scene and took over care of the driver while officers continued their efforts to free the passenger.

An investigation by Farmington Police found that the vehicle had driven through a closed garage from the driveway, crashing through the rear drywall and landing in the backyard after a front flip caused by the elevated garage structure.

The driver and passenger of the vehicle were transported by Allina ambulances to Regions Hospital for further medical evaluation. Law enforcement was not able to tell us the extent of the injuries from either party. The vehicle was reported to be an old Chevy Roadster.
