The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train arrives in the Twin Cities!
The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train rolled into the Union Depot in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota, around 6:45 PM on Monday, December 12th, greeted by thousands of people following a stop in Cottage Grove early that evening. The train returned for the first time in three years following back-to-back virtual concerts during the pandemic in 2020 and 2021.
The Holiday Train is made up of 14 brightly decorated rail cars that ring in the holiday spirit, with one concert car playing holiday music along the way. There are a number of stops along the route for the Holiday Train, where you can enjoy a free concert. The crowd in St. Paul, Minnesota, was greeted with two performances from folk rock musician Alan Doyle and country star Kelly Prescott who performed a mix of holiday tunes and original music.
While the concert is free, it is encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations or cash, which will go towards benefitting the local community and charitable organizations. Keystone Community Services was the local organization receiving the donations this year in St Paul, Minnesota.
Three More Chances to Catch the Train!
If you missed the train Monday night, you have three more chances Tuesday evening, December 13th, as the train will make stops in Golden Valley, St. Louis Park, and Minneapolis, Minnesota, to round out its tour across the Twin Cities!
The train will arrive in Golden Valley, Minnesota, around 4:45 PM, with the concert occurring from 5-5:30 PM at the Railway Crossing at Golden Hills Drive. The local charity that will be receiving the donations is PRISM.
The train will arrive in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, around 6 PM, with the concert occurring from 6:15-6:45 PM at the Railway Crossing at the intersection of W. Lake Street & Library Lane. The local charity that will be receiving the donations is St Louis Park Emergency Program.
The final stop in the Twin Cities is Minneapolis, Minnesota, with the train arriving around 8 PM and the concert occurring at 8:15-8:45 PM. The local charity that will be receiving the donations is East Side Neighborhood Services.
