Large police presence near Chandler Park
At around 8:19 PM on Saturday, October 22nd, several police agencies were dispatched to the area of Chandler Park in Champlin, Minnesota. At least 2-3 police boats were launched, a couple of drone teams, a K9 unit, and the Minnesota State Patrol Helicopter were all involved in the search in addition to the police that called in. Police were searching for a vulnerable teen. The individual is known by fire and rescue to often carry knives and blades, and sometimes use improvised devices for weapons like sticks. He has also been known to climb trees to hide or evade.
Residents in the area have told police that they have seen the teen in the woods next to Chandler Park around Henn Landing and Bradford Ave. Police had turned their search to the woods in the area of Chandler Park on the north side of west River Rd but have since widened their search westward now towards Mill Pond. Trooper 9 has recently joined the search for the teen as well.
As of 10:17 PM, police concluded they had exhausted their search for the individual and had ended their search for the time being.
