Vehicle vs. Pedestrian Accident at County Road 42 and Elm Drive in Apple Valley
APPLE VALLEY, MINNESOTA—On Saturday evening, May 18, 2024, around 10 PM, a vehicle struck a pedestrian at the intersection of County Road 42 and Elm Drive in Apple Valley, Minnesota. The pedestrian was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) for treatment.
According to the Apple Valley Police Department, the accident occurred on County Road 42, just east of Elm Drive. The vehicle was traveling eastbound in the far right lane of County Road 42 when it hit the pedestrian crossing County Road 42 southbound near Elm Drive. Initial reports indicate that the driver had a green light going eastbound on County Road 42 when the accident occurred, and no charges were issued against the driver as a result. The conditions of the victim was not readily available.

The Apple Valley Fire Department and the Minnesota State Patrol responded to the scene. Following the accident, County Road 42 was temporarily closed to allow emergency responders to assist the victim and investigate the scene. The road was reopened not too long after.
