Vehicle Flees Police, Crashes Into Garage in Burnsville, Minnesota
BURNSVILLE, MINNESOTA - Around 4:40 PM on the evening of Thursday, December 28, 2023, officers with the Burnsville Police Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a white SUV. Still, instead of stopping, the vehicle fled the police. While it fled, it crashed into the garage of a home near the intersection of Selkirk Road and Perrot Road in Burnsville, Minnesota. According to officers at the crash scene, they were not in pursuit of the vehicle after it fled them. The Burnsville Fire Department was called to the crash scene as significant structural damage was being reported. Thankfully, no injuries were reported within the household due to the crash.
After crashing the vehicle into the garage, the suspect reportedly fled the vehicle. Backup was called in from neighboring police agencies, including the Minnesota State Patrol and the Eagan Police Department, to help set up a perimeter around the suspect's last known location and aid in the search. A K9 was brought to the scene, and a track was started to track the suspect. Around 5:06 PM, the suspect was found and taken into custody near a residence at Cinnamon Ridge Trail and Slater Road intersection just over the "Burnsville border" in Eagan, Minnesota. Medics were called in to check on the suspect, as he was reporting injuries due to the crash.
