Two Multi-Vehicle Crashes Occur on I-35W in Twin Cities Metro Area

BURNSVILLE and BLOOMINGTON, MINNESOTA – Authorities are investigating two multi-vehicle crashes that occurred on I-35W in the Twin Cities metro area on Friday evening. The incidents, which took place within a short span of time and only a few miles apart, involved multiple vehicles and temporarily disrupted traffic.

The first crash happened around 5:08 p.m. near the intersection of southbound I-35W and Black Dog Road in Burnsville. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, four vehicles were involved, including a semi-truck and a 2017 Dodge Durango. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported, but one passenger in the Durango sustained injuries. Emergency services responded promptly to the scene, and investigators are working to determine the cause of the collision.

Approximately 30 minutes later, a second crash occurred further north on I-35W near 106th Street in Bloomington. While few details have been provided, authorities have not confirmed any connection between the two incidents. This second accident involved two vehicles and was said to be a hit-and-run. Thankfully, no injuries were reported in this crash.

The authorities urge drivers to exercise caution, especially in high-traffic areas and during peak travel times. Investigations into both crashes are ongoing, and officials are working to assess the contributing factors for each incident.
