UPDATE - 9:00 AM on December 19, 2021: Shooting suspect - Ahmed, Sakaria Osman. He currently is being charged with Probable Cause Assault of the 2nd degree with a Dangerous Weapon. Additional charges might come with the passing of the victim earlier today.
UPDATE - 8:30 AM on December 19, 2021: At 5 PM on December 19, 2021, the Eagan Police Department confirmed reports that the victim who was shot, Faisal A Abukar - 33 years old of Eagan, had succumbed to his injuries earlier today by the medical examiner’s office. According to the Eagan Police department public records, this would be the first homicide in Eagan, Minnesota for 2021. The police continue to investigate this incident and are asking anyone with information about this incident to contact the Eagan Police Department at (651) 675-5700.

Eagan, Minnesota - Just after 7 PM, several callers reported a shooting/stabbing in the Marathon Gas Station at 1969 Silver Bell Rd. It was later confirmed that one victim was shot in the head, near the ear, in the parking lot of the Marathon Gas Station. They were reported to have a weak pulse but were awake. After shooting the victim, it was then reported the suspect fled in a car going southwest bound hitting another car at the intersection of Cedar Grove Parkway and Silver Bell. The suspect then fled on foot from the scene towards the Jensen’s Food & Cocktails with the gun still on him. That restaurant was put under lockdown. The suspect continued southbound towards the Twin Cities Premium Outlet Mall where police were able to arrest the suspect outside of the Express Outlet store. The suspect was reporting neck pain when he was arrested.
The condition of the victim who was shot is unknown at this time. One other male subject was taken by ambulance from the scene of the crash. He was an innocent bystander who was struck by the suspect when he fled from the gas station. The Marathon Gas Station has been shut down while police investigate the incident. The local Eagan Police department is reporting there is no additional threat to the public at this time.
